Ruwaad Association for Community Initiatives and Activities

Ruwaad Association for Community Initiatives and Activities was established in Al-Madinah Al-Munawwarah in 2025 to serve as a bridge between the government sector, the private sector and the community, through the design and delivery of distinctive programmes, initiatives and events that generate a tangible positive impact, in accordance with the regulations of the National Center for Non-Profit Sector Development.

Al-Madinah Al-Munawwarah - the city of Tayyibah, which has been and remains a cradle of noble human and Islamic values - has, across the ages, witnessed social gatherings without parallel. Madinah stands as a living example of the spirit of giving and of communal cooperation, its people drawing upon the great values of Islam to develop their society and to support one another.

The identity of the Association for Community Initiatives and Activities is embodied in its vision of achieving sustainable development through initiatives, events and programmes that make a difference in the life of the community. The emblem of the Association draws its inspiration from the Green Dome, the symbol of Al-Madinah Al-Munawwarah, so as to reflect a profound belonging to this blessed place, and to give expression to the mission of the Association in strengthening noble community values and empowering individuals to serve their society.

The significance of the Association for Community Initiatives and Activities arises from its vital role in organising and developing the events and initiatives industry, whereby it contributes to enhancing quality of life through innovative and sustainable solutions. The Association further works to build effective partnerships, to qualify professional cadres, and to provide an environment supportive of creativity and excellence - thereby contributing to sustainable community development and to establishing a culture of organised institutional practice.

From registration to operation - a phased plan since 19 March 2025

The Founding Pathway

  1. March – May 2025 3 months

    Establishment and Registration

    Submission of the founding application through the National Center for Non-Profit Sector Development, ratification by the founding members, and issuance of the Association’s registration certificate, its Articles of Association and the letter constituting the Board of Directors.

  2. June – August 2025 3 months

    Studies and Research

    Surveying the needs of the exhibitions, conferences and events sector in Al-Madinah Al-Munawwarah, analysing gaps, and reading sector indicators in order to build decisions founded upon data rather than upon impressions.

  3. September – November 2025 3 months

    Planning and Partnership Building

    Preparing the strategic plan, defining objectives and impact indicators, and signing memoranda of understanding with government bodies, the private sector and non-profit sector partners.

  4. December 2025 – February 2026 3 months

    Institutional Building and Governance

    Adopting the organisational structure, policies and internal regulations; opening bank accounts; registering on the national platforms; and entrenching the separation of authorities.

  5. March – May 2026 3 months

    Securing Support and Funding

    Diversifying income sources through sponsors, donors and targeted grants, and activating licensed investments, so as to strengthen financial sustainability and reduce dependence upon a single source.

  6. June 2026 – present ongoing Current phase

    Operational Plan and Launch

    Adopting the annual operational plan with measurable performance indicators, launching the first programmes, initiatives and events, and monitoring impact with periodic review by the Board of Directors.
